‘Son of God Wind’: Chelsea new signing compared to Kylian Mbappe

Chelsea agreed a deal with Lyon for young defender Malo Gusto to join at the end of the season

It was difficult to deal with. While Chelsea was in the process of negotiating with a recalcitrant Lyon over the transfer of teenage phenom Malo Gusto, the process at times became tiresome for the club.

On the other hand, Chelsea’s right-back prospҽct, who is only 19 years old, made his first significant step forward on January 27. Some fans were beginning to lose faith, particularly because Lyon was so clear that they did not want to sell Gusto, but in the end, Chelsea’s revamped recruitment squad was successful in doing what they’ve been doing so effectively throughout this month. They were successful in closing the deal.

On the other hand, they were compҽlled to make certain concessions. Lyon was doing everything in its power to keep hold of Gusto at least until the end of the current season. It would have been great for Chelsea if Gusto could have come in and started playing right away, providing backup for Reece James, who has been dealing with ιnjury issues as of late. Gusto will finish the rest of the season at Lyon after a deal worth €30 million (about £26.3 million) was eventually reached between the two clubs. However, Chelsea were prepared for it to occur and indicated that they would rather to exercise patience and wait for Gusto rather than go out and spend money on another right-back. This is the level of respect that he enjoys at Stamford Bridge.

Die-hard Nicholas Mamo, a supporter of Lyon and an authority on the club, has shared his thoughts on Gusto’s move to Chelsea and what he will add to the club.

Mamo described how quick Gusto is and even made a comparison to the defender Ferland Mendy who plays for Real Madrid. However, Mamo did acknowledge that there is still potential for Gusto to get better. “Gusto is a very athletic player – Juninho, Lyon’s ex-sporting director said he’s as fast as Mbappe the other day,” Mamo remarked in an exclusive interview with football.london when asked to explain Gusto’s playing style.

Mamo was responding to a question on how Gusto plays the game. “It is clear that he learned his craft while playing in the middle of the field because he is highly offensιve and possesses a powerful cross.
