Norwich City right-back Max Aarons targetted by Manchester United as club step up pursuit

Manchester United are targeting Norwich City right-back Max Aarons and are stepping up their pursuit for the 22-year-old, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).

Even though the England U21 international is currently playing in the Championship, Erik ten Hag’s team are interested in him. With Aaron Wan-Bissaka likely to leave the Red Devils in the coming future, the Canaries right back is being eyed by the Old Trafford side.

Aarons has been at Norwich all his career. Coming up through the youth ranks at the Norfolk-based club, the 22-year-old has been a regular for the Canaries since breaking through in the 2108/19 campaign.

Although the right-back is currently playing in the second tier of English football, he has had two seasons in the Premier League. Those who have seen him play know that he likes to bomb up the pitch to help his team in attack.

In the previous campaign, the Norfolk-based club played in the top flight. The England U21 international made 34 appearances for the Canaries in the PL, providing two assists.

Ten Hag has Diogo Dalot and Wan-Bissaka at his disposal for the right-back spot. However, the Portugal international has started every game under the Dutch manager, leaving the former Crystal Palace star out of favour.

Fortunately, Dalot has been brilliant this season. After the Red Devils initially stumbled in the league, they found their form. And since then, the 23-year-old has been one of our best players.

The Portuguese star has gone from strength to strength since the previous campaign. And against West Ham United on Sunday (30 October), the right-back put in a great defensive shift.

However, United evidently need to add depth to back up Dalot. The right-back spot will be vulnerable if Wan-Bissaka is allowed to leave. Thus, Aarons could be a decent option for the Red Devils to put their money on in the coming transfer windows.
