AC Milan’s winger is believed to be attracting interest from several top clubs

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a move to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

Leao has impressed in Italy once again this season. The 23-year-old’s nine goals and 10 assists for Milan has left several of European football’s top clubs admiring the left winger.

According to PianetaMilan, Erik ten Hag’s Reds as well as Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG are all thought to be weighing up a move for the Portuguese forward. It is claimed Milan are interested in extending Leao’s contract at the San Siro but could baulk at salary demands. Reportedly, the money Milan would have to splash on wages is around the €40m mark. And the Serie A giants would need to work quickly with Leao’s deal set to expire in 2024.

Elsewhere, The Sun report United are interested in a move for Joao Palhinha. He has enjoyed a brilliant season for newly promoted Fulham in the Premier League.

The defensive midfielder has made 28 appearances this campaign and has become a dependable asset in their side. Should they wish to sign the Portuguese star, United are reportedly going to have to pay out around £40m. The Reds are also not the only Premier League club who have their eye on the 27-year-old.

Newcastle United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also understood to have a keen interest in the midfielder. Having only joined in the summer and with a contract that runs to 2027, Fulham appear to have all the cards stacked in their favour in any negotiation situation.
