Manchester United are showing the most interest in signing Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos this summer, according to Portuguese publication Record
The 22-year-old has been in sublime form for the Primeira Liga outfit, scoring 23 goals and providing nine assists from just 34 appearances in all competitions.
Ramos would be Ten Hag’s ideal long-term striker
Ramos has had an outstanding campaign for Benfica with 32 goal contributions. He was also brilliant for Portugal at the World Cup with a stunning hat-trick in the round of 16.
Hence, the 22-year-old likes the big occasion. He recently bagged two goals and an assist against Club Brugge in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 tie.
The Portuguese has the hallmarks of being a world-class striker. He has excellent finishing skills, vision to create chances and also likes to hold-up play in the final third.
Ramos is a very mobile striker who likes to drift into the wider positions when required. In our view, he could form a potent attack with Marcusi Rashford at United.
The youngster currently has a release clause worth €120 million in his contract, but it has been reported that Benfica could accept a lower fee of €100m in the summer.
We believe Ramos is the ideal long-term striker for manager Erik ten Hag. He has all the attributes that the Dutchman prefers. He could transform the club into title contenders.
