Manchester United appear to have missed out on the signing of Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix but still have a number of options in mind with Erik ten Hag remaining keen on adding to his squad at Old Trafford..
Manchester United’s needs in the current transfer window are now even clearer with a few deals close to completion.
The Red Devils have missed out on the signing of Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix with the Portuguese seemingly on the verge of a switch to Chelsea. United were noted to hold an interest in the former Benfica starlet alongside Arsenal but appear highly unlikely to be signing him.
Regardless, they are instead pursuing a loan for Dutch striker Wout Weghorst with negotiations with his parent club Burnley and current loan side Besiktas ongoing. Away from those deals, here are the rest of the standout transfer rumours coming out of Old Trafford over the past 24 hours.
United told Dumfries price
One of Weghorst’s international teammates, Denzel Dumfries, has also been a long-term target for the Red Devils and they have been told exactly how much it will take to sign him. As per Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, Inter Milan would consider selling the Dutch defender for around €60m (£52.9m).
Should that price be met then the Italian giants might be inclined to sell Dumfries but it was their preference to keep him until the end of the campaign. The 26-year-old originally joined Inter in the summer transfer window of 2021 as a replacement for PSG-bound Achraf Hakimi.
He has gone on to impress at the San Siro, whilst his form was also excellent during the recent World Cup in Qatar. Dumfries’ contract is set to run until 2025.
