Manchester United want to move six players on with Erik ten Hag looking to make two big signings in defence, Tottenham are chasing a prolific Real Betis striker, while Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Napoli want an Arsenal target.
MAN UTD TO TRIGGER DENZEL DUMFRIES DEAL AS INTER LOWER PRICE
Manchester United are ready to move for Denzel Dumfries this summer amid claims in Italy his asking price has been lowered.
United boss Erik ten Hag is overseeing an excellent campaign to date and they could end their six-year trophy drought this Sunday in the Carabao Cup final.
And with the club also hoping to secure a top-four finish, plans for a title push in 2023/24 are starting to take shape.
To that end, the club are finalising transfer plans for the summer – and it seems the United boss has at least two new defenders on his wishlist.
First up, InterLive claims Ten Hag is pushing ahead with plans to sign Dumfries from Inter,
The Italians rate the Dutchman highly but will be forced to cash in due to financial issues.
They have previously valued the right wing-back at around £44m (€50m).
However, they will struggle to obtain that fee and it’s now claimed their price has been lowered to £35.2m (€40m).
And that is a price they are seemingly willing to pay with Aaron Wan-Bissaka likely to move on as a result.
The £50m man has impressed since coming into the side and will not be short of suitors.
But Ten Hag reportedly sees Dumfries as an upgrade. As such, Wan-Bissaka will be reportedly moved on to finance the Dumfries fee.
Kim Min-Jae next on Man Utd wishlist
Ten Hag is also keen to strengthen his Manchester United central defensive options too.
Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez appear first choice for the Red Devils. However, the two appear to lack serious competition with left-back Luke Shaw often preferred before club captain Harry Maguire.
Now, according to reports in Italy, United are putting themselves right in the mix to sign Kim Min-jae.
The South Korean has been an absolute rock in the heart of the Napoli defence since replacing Kalidou Koulibaly last summer.
However, a clause in his deal allows him to move abroad for a relatively modest fee of £42.3m (€48m). Ten Hag is keen to exploit that and bring the player to Old Trafford as a result, reports il Correire dello Sport.
Napoli, though, are loathe to let him leave and reportedly seeking to tie him to a new deal. If they do, they plan to raise his exit clause to nearer the €65m mark.
However, until that deal is done, Ten Hag will push to convince him to sign for the Red Devils.
The two deals for Dumfries and Kim will set Manchester United back a combined £77.5m (€88m).
Six to leave Man Utd this summer as Ten Hag gets tough
It promises to be a summer of change at United though.
With a new striker also on their radar, Ten Hag will also get tough and push up to six players out the exit door.
