But it was Cristiano Ronaldo ’s behaviour in that 2-0 defeat of Spurs that attracted more attention than the result itself, while ex-Ajax player Amin Younes has hit out at the comparisons made between him and the Portuguese. Ex-Ajax star Younes has hit out at the comparisons linking his behaviour to that of Ronaldo’s following the 37-year-old’s actions against Tottenham last week.
The Portuguese international stormed off down the players’ tunnel after refusing to come on as a substitute against Spurs, while Younes also did something similar when he played under none other than Erik ten Hag in Amsterdam.
Since the footage reemerged of Younes’ antics, he took to Twitter to shut down any comparisons. He wrote: “Totally not true! I signed 3 month before that happened already for SSC Napoli.(free agent) So it was clear that I leave the club! The context is totally different than many people tell!”
