Erik ten Hag has eased concerns over a fresh injury for Anthony Martial in Manchester United’s win against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The French forward led the line again for United, but was forced off with 20 minutes left in the match, having previously received medical treatment during the game.
Martial headed straight down the Old Trafford tunnel after he was withdrawn from the game, sparking fears of a fresh injury for the striker.
Asked after the match if Martial was okay after being taken off, Ten Hag told reporters: “Yes, I think so. You have seen he got a knock, but he continues the game and then he came off.”
It is not such good news for Donny van de Beek though, after the Dutchman was forced off injured during the first-half of the clash at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman exited the pitch just before half-time following a heavy challenge from Marcos Senesi, who slipped as he challenged his opponent for the ball and followed through heavily on his leg.
“Difficult to say, we have to wait 24 hours before we can give a good diagnosis,” Ten Hag said after the match, before adding: “I can’t say in this moment. You have to wait 24 hours, but it doesn’t look good.”
