Despite being a really useful and versatile home grown player, it looks like Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be sold this summer to balance the books at Chelsea after some serious spending.
The midfielder has been strongly linked with AC Milan in Serie A, who had success signing Blues academy players when they brought in Fikayo Tomori.
The problem, as always when selling to Serie A clubs, is that they don’t have much money. We’ve thought the transfer fee Chelsea would ask might be too steep, but according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, who is reporting on the interest, it “shouldn’t be an issue.”
Instead, he points to Loftus-Cheek’s wage demands as a potential “obstacle.”
Milan can certainly afford him if they really want, it’s just a question of whether they think he’s worth the money. Otherwise, it may be that Premier League teams are the only ones capable of tempting RLC to move.
