Harry Kane ‘open to Man Utd switch’ and Elanga latest.

January 20, 2023

Erik ten Hag has got Manchester United to a place where fans know that the team will have already put the draw with Crystal Palace behind them with full focus on Arsenal this weekend.

It’s now common knowledge that Casemiro will not be available for the clash, which is a huge blow for the Reds. His replacement will have to step in and step up, as will new signing Wout Weghorst.

He is in line to feature against the Gunners given the ambiguity of Anthony Martial’s fitness status, and so the Dutchman needs to show why Ten Hag was right to put his faith in him.

No matter the result though, United fans will always have one eye on the takeover situation at the club. Fans were given a confidence boost when Sir Jim Ratcliffe made his interest official, although before long they will want to see progress.

Pellistri ‘close’ to United loan exit

Brazilian outlet O Globo claims Facundo Pellistri is nearing a move to Flamengo.

The winger, who featured for Uruguay at the World Cup, was handed his United debut in this month’s 3-0 League Cup win over Charlton.

He is eager for more first-team action and looks set to jet back to South America to join Flamengo, who will reportedly cover his wages in full.

Rivals Botafogo were also interested in the 21-year-old but couldn’t meet United’s financial demands.

Flamengo seem to be set to benefit from a pre-existing relationship with the Reds, following Anraes Pereira’s loan spell there last year.

Kane ‘would be open to United switch’

Harry Kane ‘would be’ willing to consider a switch to Old Trafford amid claims United hold an interest in the England captain, according to a report.

The Indepdendent (via HITC) suggests the Tottenham striker could be the attacker the Reds jump for in the summer when Erik ten Hag will be seraching for a long-term goal-getter.

Kane turns 30 in the summer and is yet to win a trophy at club level. The report claims Kane would be open to a switch to United should the opportunity arise.

Dortmund ‘out of race’ for Elanga

Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund are not pursuing a loan deal for Anthony Elanga.

The Bundesliga giants were linked with a move for the United winger, who has expereinced limited game time this season.

The Swede, also on Everton’s radar, has started just seven of his 18 outings this campaign.
