We’ve written a bit about Chelsea’s reported interest in Andre Onana in recent days, and today Nizaar Kinsella in the Evening Standard has added to the whispers that the Inter Milan goalkeeper is a target for us this summer, with meetings set to take place between us and the Italian club next week to sort out Romelu Lukaku’s future – and potentially try to arrange an Onana for Kepa swap deal.
His piece mentions three other potential targets for Chelsea – Borussia Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel, Brentford’s David Raya, and Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili.
It’s certainly not a who’s who of the world’s top stoppers, but each has their qualities and all are highly rated.
With two first team goalkeepers already on the books, the first priority is selling some of our assets, and it’s easy to see why arranging a deal with a team who might take one of our options in return is tempting.
