Chelsea are all set to bαttle it out with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United for the signature of Emiliano Martinez.

Fichajes reported that Chelsea had joined the competition to sign Emiliano Martinez. The Aston Villa goalkeeper has already been linked to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Nevertheless, things are likely to become much more tricky now that the Blues have entered the contest.

Throughout the past few years, Emiliano Martinez has been regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the world. His bravery during the 2022 FIFA World Cup has not gone unnoticed. The 30-year-old goalie was outstanding during the mega-event and assisted Argentina in winning the grand prize.

Martinez won the golden glove at the World Cup’s conclusion. Many clubs have since been interested in the Argentine. He transferred from Arsenal to Aston Villa in the summer of 2020. He has been without a rivαl ever since he arrived at Villa Park. And because to his contributions, Argentina not only won the World Cup, but also the Copa America.

Martinez has kept seven clean sheets in 24 games this season. He has been able to play consistently even when his squad has not been at its best. Clubs in the Premier League are presently interested in hiring him. One of the teams vying for the 30-year-old shot-stopper’s services is Chelsea. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Wdouard Mendy are among the Blues’ players. Yet, neither of them has been all that reliable.
