Chelsea are close to signing Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez and the deal will soon be completed, according to reports.
Paez, who is only 15, was a target of interest for Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga. Real Madrid had been mentioned in connection with him in the past.
The midfielder for Independiente del Valle is considered to be one of the most promising young players in South America, and he will be eligible to sign with the Blues once he is 18 years old.
Although Paez has not yet made his debut for the Ecuadorian side, he was brought into the first team in preparation for the 2022-2023 season. Already, he has shown his worth on the international stage with Ecuador U17s, where he has earned five caps and scored three goals.
According to recent rᴜmors, Chelsea are getting very close to reaching a verbal agreement with Independiente del Valle to bring Paez to Stamford Bridge. This would pave the way for the transfer to take place.
According to a report in The Sun from earlier this month, Chelsea had a bid of £14.8 million rejected for Paez. This indicates that he will most likely cost more than £15 million if the transaction is finalized. If the west London club were to sign him, he would become the third adolescent that they have signed in the month of January, following in the footsteps of Andrey Santos and Malo Gusto.
Since Todd Boehly took over as owner of Chelsea FC in the summer, the club has shelled out more than 600 million pounds to acquire new players.
Graham Potter’s side are currently 10th in the Premier League after early exits from domestic cup competitions. Despite the fαct that the Blues are currently having significant difficulties, Reece James believes that Chelsea can become “one of the best teams in the world” once their new stars have adjusted to the club. James, a right defender for Chelsea, was recently interviewed by Sky Sports and said, “I don’t think there’s a trophy we can’t win.”
“I don’t know when that will happen, but with the team we’re constructing and what the club is turning into…
Since we have a lot of young players, I believe that when we have practiced together for a longer length of time we are going to become one of the top teams in the world.
