Arsenal are among the Premier League sides still chasing Brighton star Moises Caicedo despite him signing a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the 21-year-old’s new deal will not deter any potential suitors – who also include Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool.
Caicedo committed his future at Brighton until 2027 on Friday (3 March) but his renewed terms sheet does not include a release clause.
Brighton also have the option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
Arsenal made a number of bids to sign the Ecuador international in January but eventually settled for a deal to bring Chelsea’s Jorginho to the club.
Brighton slapped a reported price tag of £90million on Caicedo’s head in the winter window, but it is believed that the Seagulls’ bargaining position has improved after a new contract was agreed.
The 21-year-old went public with his desire to leave the Amex Stadium after news broke of interest from Arsenal in January, citing the need to secure his family’s future with an improved pay packet.
Caicedo now earns a reported wage of £60,000-a-week after signing his new deal.
Sources close to the midfielder have revealed he is still keen on moving to a top-tier club this summer as he wants to play at the highest possible level.
He has notched 26 appearances as a regular starter for Brighton this term, notching one goal and one assist.
The 28-cap Ecuador star also impressed for his country at the World Cup in Qatar last year.
