Arsenal are in the picture to sign Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund, according to multiple reports from Italy.

five goals in two matches this month and all of them were netted by the 20-year-old. This, coupled with his impressive debut season for the Serie A side, has seen him draw attention from other clubs.

Tutto Atalanta state Arsenal are included in the list, along with AC Milan and Napoli. The two Serie A sides are thinking about the striker as a potential heir for Olivier Giroud and Victor Osimhen respectively.

Regarding Mikel Arteta’s side, it’s claimed they are ‘more than ready’ to make a rich offer to Atalanta for the player.

Another report from Tutto Atalanta explains the auction has already started for the Dane and mentions the three clubs as his suitors, along with Newcastle. They state Milan and Napoli must watch out for Arsenal in the chase for Højlund

Both reports state Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are ready to unleash an auction and have set a starting price of at least €40m.

Over at Calciomercato, they say the Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, will ‘really offer over €50m’ for the attacker. If this happens, Atalanta president Antonio Percassi ‘will not be able to say no’ to the proposal.

Earlier this month, Tutto Atalanta reported the Gunners have shown willingness to invest €50m on Højlund. Calciomercato have backed it up now.

With Percassi’s latest stance, Arsenal could be in contention to get a deal over the line for the Dane in the summer.
